Creative Brief

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley wanted to produce a strong, yet sincere, video spot to welcome students back on campus after a two-year pandemic hiatus.

Our inspiration came from students who voiced their desire to reclaim a sense of normalcy. Our approach, after diligent research, and interviews with students was to create a “hype” video.

The Creative Process

  • Step 1.

    Concept Development

    Carlos Javier and his team took the University's Covid campaign, "Committed to Your Safety, Your Success, Your Experience". and turned it into a hype video, showing students who were excited to return to campus.

  • Step 2.

    Pre-Production

    Our video production team developed a script, storyboards, text animations, and shot carefully curated B-roll footage.

    We scouted multiple campus filming locations, directed on-camera talent, and recorded aerial footage.

  • Step 4.

    The Results

    We edited carefully selected B-roll and live-action footage and ultimately delivered an effective, and well received, hype video welcoming back students to UTRGV. Feedback was incredibly positive, and students appreciated the effort put forth by the university’s marketing team.
