Students of Service (SOS) is Amir Samandi’s San Antonio nonprofit for students in grades 6 through 12, built on community service and travel abroad. SOS asked for one about-us video that could do four jobs: play at its gala, support fundraising, recruit students and engage donors. Five shorter videos came from the same shoots, and all six are here. Amir’s review: “pixelreflex MEDIA’s work for Students of Service has been nothing short of transformative.”

In the overview, Amir asks when the best time to plant a tree was, and answers: 30 years ago. Students describe helping neighbors who rely on the food bank or the diaper bank, and what the trips abroad teach them. Barbara Ankamah Burford, a Wells Fargo vice president, says she’s proud of the impact on students in San Antonio and globally. The last line goes to donors: “Your generosity creates a ripple effect.”

Christian Valerio’s alumni story runs from volunteer to the first alumni liaison on the SOS board. An SOS scholarship took him to the Great Wall of China, and he credits SOS with the confidence to apply to Notre Dame. Citizen Diplomats follows departure day at the airport and explains why SOS raises scholarship funds for students whose families can’t afford the trips.
