Headshots, for teams and individuals

For Joeris General Contractors, a returning client, we set up one backdrop and one lighting setup at their office and delivered 33 retouched headshots of the executive team, all in the same light. Eight are shown here, and the last three are their CEO in three looks.

Studio, office and outdoor headshots

One person at a time, on a studio backdrop, at their office or outside. When someone has more than one look, or a team was photographed the same day, those photos are grouped together. The Zachry Construction team was photographed outdoors in a single session.

A team headshot day, at your office

For HR and office managers who need the whole staff photographed without pulling anyone away from work for long. We bring the backdrop and lights to you, set up in a conference room and photograph everyone in the same light, so the headshots match on your website, in your staff directory and on LinkedIn. Here’s how to get your team ready for headshot day, with a note you can send your staff.

Recruiting as well as refreshing the team page? A headshot day pairs well with a workforce and recruitment video shot on the same visit.

Before the day

On a planning call we agree on the backdrop, the crop and how many people are coming. You send us a list of names, and we send back a sign-up schedule you can share with your staff.

Setup

We set up in a conference room or an empty office about 10 by 15 feet, with an outlet nearby. Setup takes about 45 minutes before the first person sits down.

Each person

About 10 minutes in front of the camera. We coach every person, then show them a few frames on the camera screen, so they head back to their desk knowing there is one they like.

After the day

Each person gets a private gallery link to choose a favorite, and HR gets one master gallery with everyone. Galleries go out the next business day. Retouched headshots arrive the next business day after the selections.

What HR gets at the end:

  • One retouched headshot for each person. More from the gallery are $75 each.
  • One private gallery per person, plus one master gallery with the whole team.
  • Files named with each person’s name, in a full-size version for print and a smaller one for your website and LinkedIn.
  • The same backdrop and lighting for everyone, with a matching crop and color across the team.
  • A record of the setup, so people you hire later match the team.

What to wear and bring

Share this list with your team a few days before the shoot.

  • Wear what you wear on a good day at work. If clients know you in a lab coat, a uniform or a company polo, wear it.
  • Solid colors and simple textures work best. Very fine stripes and tiny checks can shimmer on screens.
  • Individual sessions include 2 looks, so bring a second top or jacket. A spare also helps if a shirt wrinkles on the drive.
  • Iron or steam your clothes the night before. A lint roller helps with dark jackets.
  • Wear your glasses if you wear them every day. We set the lights to keep glare off the lenses.
  • Keep the company pin. Leave the lanyard and name badge at your desk.
  • Do your hair and makeup the way you usually wear them, and bring powder or blotting paper for shine. A hair and makeup artist can be added from $500 per half day.

Common questions

How long does each person take?

About 10 minutes, including some coaching and a look at the camera screen. A team half day covers up to 15 people and a full day up to 35, so people can come in between meetings.

How much room do you need?

A conference room or an empty office about 10 by 15 feet, with an outlet. We bring the backdrop, lights and stands. Setup takes about 45 minutes.

How does everyone get their photos?

Each person gets a private gallery link and picks a favorite, and HR gets a master gallery with the whole team. We retouch the selections so people look like themselves, never over-smoothed. Retouched headshots arrive the next business day after the selections, and rush delivery is 25% more.

We hire all year. Will new people match?

Yes. We keep a record of the backdrop, lights and camera settings from your team day, so someone hired months later matches the people already on your website. A new hire is booked as an individual session, $350.

Where can we use the headshots?

On your own channels: your website, staff directory, LinkedIn and other social media, press, proposals and print, with no time limit. Each person can also use their own headshot on their personal LinkedIn profile and speaker bios. Paid advertising is licensed separately.

Can you set up headshots at our conference or event?

Yes. We can run a headshot station for attendees as part of your event coverage, priced with the event. See our event photography.

Can you film video the same day?

Yes. We can plan headshots and video into one production, with one crew and one schedule, so your people only show up once. See our video production services.

Can you photograph only our leadership team?

Yes. For Joeris General Contractors, we photographed the executive team at their office. For one leader who needs a classic headshot plus an environmental portrait at work, the Executive session is $950.

Can our team day be outdoors?

Yes. The Zachry Construction headshots on this page were made outdoors in one session, and an outdoor team day fits in a half day. Tell us about the spot on the planning call.

What if someone is nervous about having their photo taken?

We coach every person through it, one at a time, and show them a few frames on the camera screen before they go.

Can we pick the background, or match the headshots we already have?

Yes. We agree on the backdrop and the crop on the planning call. An office team day uses one backdrop so everyone matches, and with a Team full day we can match the lighting and background of your existing team headshots on request. Individual sessions include two looks, which can be two different backgrounds.

We only have a few people. What should we book?

Individual sessions are $350 per person, with two looks and three retouched headshots each. A team half day is $1,800 for up to 15 people, with one retouched headshot each, so from six people on it costs less than booking everyone separately.

Can you send our building a certificate of insurance?

Yes. We carry commercial general liability, professional liability and workers’ compensation coverage with The Hartford, and a certificate of insurance is available on request.

Do your prices include sales tax?

No. Prices cover the creative and production fees for a standard scope and don’t include sales tax.
