Bexar Branches Alliance, in San Antonio, was after something more emotional than PowerPoint numbers to reach its audience. We made this 43-second commercial for it, and it starts with the problem: “San Antonio is losing its shade.”

The commercial says one fifth of Bexar County’s canopy is already gone, and that “our most vulnerable neighborhoods are left breathing hotter, dirtier air.” Then it changes direction: “Trees aren’t just scenery. They are our health, our equity, and our legacy.”

Bexar Branches Alliance, it says, is “bringing life back to our streets.” The ask comes in three short lines: “Join us.” “Plant a tree.” “Plant the future.”
