Home Rehab Program: Ms. Herrera

Ms. Herrera says the City of San Antonio Home Rehab Program helped her with a walk-in shower, heating and air conditioning, a water heater and some windows. This 38-second homeowner story was made for the program, which is run by the city’s Neighborhood and Housing Services department.

She tried to keep up with repairs, “but there was always something to be done.” She did the best she could. “My family and I moved here in 1959,” she says, “shortly after I graduated from high school.”

“I feel safe and comfortable in my beautiful home,” she says. She wishes more people knew about the program. “It’s a blessing.”
