Students of Service (SOS) Service project

Volunteering at Haven for Hope

At Haven for Hope, Students of Service (SOS) volunteers worked with the San Antonio Food Bank. Founded by Amir Samandi, SOS gets students from sixth through 12th grade doing community service and traveling abroad.

“I’m a part of SOS to make a difference in my community and see and feel the impact,” one volunteer says. Later, one speaker talks about “providing opportunities for kids that maybe normally would not get to have that kind of experience.”

Kids can sign right up through the website, the speaker says, with opportunities almost every single Saturday and the chance to keep serving all through the summer. SOS has also been an authorized certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. It’s one of three service event videos we filmed for SOS.
