Giving Tuesday Now was the occasion for this 42-second appeal from San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA), an animal rescue working to save cats and dogs from euthanasia. We cut it for Facebook, and short lines of on-screen text carry the message.

“Uncertain times challenge us to bring the community together more than ever,” the first line reads. By the spot’s count at the time, SAPA had saved more than 50,000 vulnerable lives since 2011. “But we can’t do it alone,” it says. COVID-19, it adds, had impacted the rescue’s operations and created financial hardships.

The closing lines turn to giving: “Your gift saves lives.” SAPA has also used our videos when applying for grants from other nonprofits, Petco Love among them.
