In Valentine Komen’s words, “NPower is a life changer.” Valentine is an NPower Dallas alum, and her name title in this 80-second video reads NPower alum, apprenticeship program. A lot of programs like it cost anywhere from five to 15 grand, she says, but “NPower’s literally free.”

From the social support managers and career placement managers to the instructors and the fellow students who will technically be your competition in the job market, everyone at NPower, she says, wants you to succeed. They consistently remind you that you’re “more than where you came from.”

Another really good part of NPower, she says, was seeing somebody in a position who looks like her. “You can’t envision yourself being there without seeing someone that does look like you there.” NPower, in her pitch, is “not just here for you today, but here for you for the rest of your life.”
