NPower Texas & Harris County Partnership
Harris County invested in NPower Texas graduates, and this three-minute partner video shows what came of it. It was produced to help NPower find more partners like the county.
Harris County’s investment opened apprenticeships for 15 NPower graduates, with the county’s fairly new Department of Economic Equity and Opportunity (DEEO) as a partner. The county’s Universal Services has four interns, in desktop support, help desk, web design and cybersecurity, working side by side with county employees every day for six months.
One speaker explains why NPower was “a great fit for the county”: it builds paths into emerging tech fields for adults changing careers and for young adults who may not be able to go to college. NPower adds professional development, so candidates arrive job-ready.
One speaker’s advice to other employers: “I would recommend a partnership with NPower across the board.” In one scene, Tiko Reynolds-Hausman of Harris County talks with Dr. Sarah David of NPower Texas in an office hallway. It’s one of three partner videos among the 18 we produced for NPower.
