Raymond Robinson, Jr.

Before NPower, Raymond Robinson, Jr. drove commercial trucks and could be gone two, three or four days at a time, sometimes two or three weeks. As a single parent, he says, that didn’t lend itself to a great home life. His name title in this 60-second alumni story reads IT executive director, veteran and NPower alum.

The spot makes two points about NPower: “You don’t have to pay anything out of pocket,” and once you’ve graduated, “it doesn’t stop.” The spot says NPower still contacts its graduates about follow-on classes and job placement.

Looking back, Raymond says that six years earlier he was driving a commercial truck over I-20. When he told his story, he was an executive director at a major financial institution, “and you have to thank NPower for that.” Other NPower alumni appear with name titles, too: Zooey Nguyen, Byron J. Cooper, Brittany Holmes and Jacqueline Bragg.
