Tahjee Speight

Growing up the child of a military parent, Tahjee Speight moved around a lot before joining the military, too. Tahjee’s name title in this 60-second alumni story reads NPower alum and U.S. Air Force veteran. The transition out of the military “was interesting, to say the least.”

“I definitely experienced a few challenges such as a brief stint of homelessness,” Tahjee says. Tahjee always wanted an IT career path. After separating from the military, a program that was both no cost and military friendly “felt like it was the right path to begin my journey and career in IT.”

What sets NPower apart, Tahjee thinks, is how supportive the instructors and staff are of both students and alumni. Within two months of graduating, Tahjee landed an IT role with a major financial lender. Beyond training, NPower gave skills, mentorship and “the confidence to know that I could succeed.”
